What differentiates Cisco SASE from other similar products?

The massive I put from Cisco into the continuous development of Umbrella. The evolution from Umbrella DNS to SIG has been impressive, but new features and functionality are constantly being added. The inclusion of Cloud Malware analysis is great, and the future releases of Secure Connect are going to make Umbrella a "must have".

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Ease of use. The Umbrella dashboard is VERY user friendly. Policy management is straight forward and the documentation is very well written.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The current lack or deep packet inspection through the cloud delivered firewall. For any business that only has outbound Web traffic, this is no issue. An IPSec tunnel to forward all traffic to Umbrella is fine. At the moment though for incoming sessions you would still need an NGFW at the business "edge".

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Try before you buy. Any good Cisco partner should be able to initiate a proof of value in around 20 minutes. Get hands on and play with the dashboard for a couple of pilot users for both on site and remote. You can define your policies easily and see how easy it is to deploy on large and small scale.

What differentiates Cisco SASE from other similar products?

Through the acquisition of OpenDNS Cisco now have a product that has been around for some time and has been further developed to deliver a deeper integration into customer infrastructure rather than simple DNS protection.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The deployment documents are well thought out and easy to follow making the roll out of additional features and functionality very straightforward. But in true simple fashion the product can be deployed and active in minutes not hours.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The reporting area could be better as well as the schedule reports.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Make sure you review the different versions of the product and find the right fit. Some features you may want are in higher tiers which can be more costly.

What differentiates Cisco SASE from other similar products?

In my experience we feel that this tool is different from the others as it is very robust and does a great job in all situations, plus the best part of Umbrella is the ease of administration and the ability to handle individual client installations.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

What we like the most about this tool is that Umbrella is lightweight and doesn't spend a lot of resources on the computers, which doesn't affect the internal work that is done in each one, apart from being very secure.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Since we have been using this tool we have not found any fault with the product as it does all the heavy lifting for us on the anti-malware side. It helps us meet certain filtering requirements required to pass the audit.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

We can recommend this product because for a centralized and functional protection, this tool is ideal.
