What differentiates IBM Maximo IT from other similar products?

Instead of only keeping track of laptops, servers or software licences, it gives a complex picture of the entire asset lifecycle, from procurement to retirement.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The reporting and automation features save my team a lot of manual work, and the integration with other enterprises systems means we don't have to jump between multiple platforms just to manage assets.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It's initial setup takes time and requires careful planning.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would recommend taking the time to plan the implementation properly and involving the teams that will use it every day.

What differentiates IBM Maximo IT from other similar products?

It is highly customizable. Loved by the Cyber Security & Architecture teams, as it fulfills all their requirements. Extremely stable. It has the full-fledged asset management (all assets not just IT) + ITSM

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The system is extremely stable and customizable. Also, it is very scalable (with the proper configuration, it scales very well).

What do you dislike most about this product?

Look and feel can definitely get a lot better. Also, embedded discovery is very important.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

This is a system that will not just serve you now, but for years to come.

What differentiates IBM Maximo IT from other similar products?

It gives unified visibility over hardware/software assets and service workflows like incident, change and problem management all backed by a common data model and CMDB. This integrated view reduces data silos and makes cross team collaboration far easier.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I really like that i don't just see a ticket or an asset in isolation. If a server keeps causing incidents I can trace it back to its lifecycle, warranty, usage history and even replacement planning all in the same system.

What do you dislike most about this product?

New users usually need proper training before using it, which can slow things down at the start.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Be ready to invest time in setup, training and process design to get real value from it. If your needs are simple, a lighter tool might be easier and more cost effective.
