Modern Cloud-Based Endpoint Management

Likeliness to Recommend

10 /10

What differentiates Microsoft Intune from other similar products?

The key difference is that Intune removes much of the dependancy on on-premises infrastructure and there is no need of dedicated management servers or complex hierarchical setups to push policies. Everything is handled through the cloud, which makes it easier to scale across distributed environments and manage remote or hybrid workforces. And another major advantage of Intune is its deep integration with other Microsoft services.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The strong point is its reduction in operational overhead. In older setups, a system engineer would often spend a lot of time maintaining infrastructure just to support endpoint management like server, updates, connectivity issues, and so on. And the thing that stands out is the way access decisions are no longer just about whether a device is known or trusted but whether the user and device together meet certain conditions at that moment.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The point of friction is the pace of change and Intune evolved quickly, which is generally a good thing, but it also means features, settings, and behaviours can shift over time. And a lot of the management experience is intentionally abstracted, which is great when things are working normally, but it becomes less convenient when we need to understand why something failed.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would advise going in with the right expectations. Intune is not a deep control, everything-customisable type of tool like traditional on-prem endpoint management systems. Instead, it’s built around abstraction and policy-driven management. That means we gain scalability and simplicity but we may lose some granular control and direct visibility when things go wrong. And i would also say Intune is a strong choice if our organisation is moving toward a cloud-first or hybrid work model, especially if we’re already invested in the Microsoft ecosystem.
