What differentiates Rapid7 metasploit from other similar products?

great encoders and functions to encrypt the exploit payloads. The pro version is better as it has a lot more exploits than the free version.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

all latest exploits are present in the pro verson.

What do you dislike most about this product?

the product lacks a polymorphic encryption system for the shellcodes and exploit payloads for windows binary based exploits as sometime they are flagged by XDRs and AVs.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

go for the pro version as it has better and latest exploits.

What differentiates Rapid7 metasploit from other similar products?

When I started evaluating different security testing tools, Metasploit stood out because it provided a structured workflow rather than feeling like a collection of separate utilities. Having everything organized within one platform made it easier to plan and perform authorized security assessments while keeping the overall process more consistent.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The feature I appreciate most is how it helps simplify repetitive parts of the testing process. Instead of spending extra time preparing the environment for every assessment, I can focus more on reviewing results and understanding potential security issues. That has made my workflow more efficient, especially during lab exercises.

What do you dislike most about this product?

One challenge I experienced was that the interface and available features can feel overwhelming during the initial learning phase. It takes time to understand how the different modules fit into a complete assessment workflow. Without some background in networking and application security, it may be difficult to get the most value from the platform.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Before using Metasploit regularly, I would recommend building a solid understanding of basic cybersecurity concepts and practicing in a controlled lab environment. Learning how the platform works step by step made the experience much more productive for me. Once the fundamentals are clear, it becomes much easier to use the tool effectively for authorized security testing.
