The perfect virtual office for remote workers.

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Microsoft Teams from other similar products?

Since my company went remote, teams is my virtual office. is better than just a chat app in that I can get a sense of presence. i can see who is in a meeting who is busy and who is available for a quick chat it is the best as it bridges the gap of being physically separated the chat function is fast and informal which encourages the kind of quick communication that used to happen over the cubicle wall.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I am a big fan of the pop out chat feature. away from that, i can have individual chat conversations in separate smaller windows while keeping my main teams window on my calendar or a particular channel. i am a big fan of the save this message feature too. this is a feature i use daily to bookmark important instructions or important links in messages that i know i will want to refer back to. i am a big fan of the quiet hours feature in the mobile app too which is important as it makes sure that i don't get work pings during dinner or during weekends.

What do you dislike most about this product?

the desktop app is a bit of a heavy install. it takes long time to update every time i open it and chances are it will just refuse to work until i clear the cache, or my computer reboots. Not the most lightweight piece of software.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I recommend this to any remote team that wants to stay connected but not feel like they are always knee deep in meetings. gives good balance of synchronous & asynchronous communication. good tool for my daily routine.
