What differentiates Smartsheet from other similar products?

Our consulting company uses Smartsheet for continuous monitoring of the projects we work on, through this our employees manage all the information and ideas of the projects, creating work tables remotely and making the most of all the options that the platform allows. Its spreadsheet interface greatly facilitates the work in the company and allows to manage data in an orderly manner.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The Gantt chart view greatly facilitates the way we manage projects and shape our ideas so that we can meet the needs of our customers in the agreed time frame. Team collaboration tools are designated under permissions so that not everyone can see the progress and only authorized people can see it. Data security is perfectly safeguarded in Smartsheet.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Customer support leaves much to be desired, very late response times and minimal efficiency in resolving problems, even simple ones. Visibility and user experience can be affected by different factors in the overall usability. It could have folders of attached files and not long lists that a priori can make us lose a lot of time when looking for anything we need instantly in them.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It is recommended to use Smartsheet in its paid version as it works much better with much more advanced tools to carry out the projects in question. The cost is perhaps a bit high, but it depends on each organization and the use they will give to the tool. Customer service has a lot of room for improvement in both usage options. If your team is familiar with the Excel format, this can be an excellent option.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

What I like most about the application is the ease of assigning each member of my team the corresponding project development tasks. You can use it to generate your workflow as well as budget control. It is an application that shows the tasks to prioritize, and gives us in a very visual way the progress of each of my projects. It is simple to use, easy to learn and to implement. Excellent for managing several projects on the same platform, it gives you the possibility for people outside the organization to update the reports and you can schedule personal notifications or for third parties.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The price that is by subscription, or sometimes becomes a little slow, it is difficult to use. That is unfortunate because the subject is quite complex. It would be helpful if videos were available on the home page to help new employees get started with Smartsheet.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

In Smartsheet, I enjoy being able to collaborate on a single document without having to keep track of many versions of the same file. It is also more secure than sending an internal copy to an external party because doing so would require backing up the document to our server, which puts us at risk for security breaches. Smartsheet offers so many useful features that it acts as a virtual cheat sheet for me, eliminating the need to enter calculations manually; the automations are my favorite feature of this software. And, of course, generating documents is another great feature.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It is a great project management tool. The reason is that it is very flexible. It's very similar to Excel. So, users understand it, which makes it a little bit easier to use for the vast majority; it does a very good job of creating Gantt charts. It is widely used for compiling the status of various projects.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Prioritizing can be very difficult and sometimes tough decisions need to be made. If the portfolio management team cannot make those decisions or is not empowered to do so, it can lead to decreased efficiency within the organization.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Smartsheet is your project customization feature. It's a great solution because you can add your own WBS. Another feature that's valuable in the solution is when you have those connections, you have that API, you have an isolated space and you can create a solution, it's a tremendous product because you can extract data. You can enter the formulas and do a lot of the automation. Adding quotes and links to the vendor's site; Smartsheet allowed us to integrate the quote into the project seamlessly.
